The difficulty of answering this can be attributed more to the unexpected/abstract nature of the question rather than technical complexity. It was clear that they simply had no 'correct' answer in mind and they wanted to assess my ability to think about valuation intuitively and to hold an intelligent discussion on the topic. Other than this question, I never ran into a question that stumped me or that wasn't at least related to material covered in the most popular interview prep resources.
