Please describe the interview / hiring process.
BAH's recruiting process is quite different from the other consulting firms I interviewed with (accenture, deloitte, mck). The primary difference is that it is influenced very strongly by your ability to get a current employee to refer you.

My process went as follows. I reached out to an employee, wanting to get more information, and she immediately referred me to another employee at the firm. About a week later, I received an interview request (via phone call).

My advice to anyone who wants to get into BAH is to network hard. Use your school's alumni database intelligently, and reach out to people who are high up in the company.

Now, as far as the actual interview is concerned, here's what happened:

I was asked to come to a sort of interview day/night. Once you get to the office that you're interviewing at you'll go into a big room. In that room will be all of the other candidates that are going to be interviewing. A couple of execs from the firm come down to talk about the firm, and they tell you the kinds of projects that they're working on. After that, the fun begins.

You go into another big room, where there are tables everywhere, and then you all pick a table... After that, then the interviewers come to you. You might not have someone interview you immediately (I waited for about five minutes for my first).

Both of the interviews were with partners. One of them was a Senior partner, while the other was a newer partner. Both of the interviews were basically overviews of my resume. They both asked me to walk them through my resume ( I assume they hadn't really read it before then), and that was pretty much it. Beyond that, they asked a few questions as to my abilities in specific areas (i.e. how are you with stats?). Let me be clear in saying that there was no case interview whatsoever. I am aware that BAH gives case interviews, but I, for whatever reason, did not have one.

To be honest, I assume that my background was strong enough that they were comfortable foregoing that. I had worked in ops consulting before (prior to college and during), my GPA was pretty high (3.65), I had several partners pulling for me, and my pre-interview discussions all went very well.
