Interview
The bank came to campus to recruit, and I applied through my school's online career center portal. Candidates were then subject to a first-round phone screen that was focused on behavioral and cultural questions. Second round super day consisted of three, 30-minute interviews: 1 behavioral, 1 technical, and 1 cultural. The cultural was a very relaxed conversation designed to get to know me better.
Interview Questions
I had a lot of corporate strategy/development/M&A experience. One of the interviewers asked, why I wasn't interested in doing that again and what I didn't like about my previous internship.
The technical questions were very straightforward: current market events and questions straight from the guide:

- What did the fed do recently?
- If you could only choose 2 financial statements, which two and why?
- What is EBITDA and how is it calculated? Why is this important in banking?
- What is Free Cash Flow, how is it calculated, and why is it important?
- Walk me through an LBO model.

Interview
Applied through on campus recruiting. Attended an on campus seminar and networked with one analyst, then interviewed with that analyst and her associate.
Interview Questions
Very conversational interview with no technicals. However, I was first for the day and the interviewers seemed very unprepared (I beat them to the spot and I was 15 minutes early). The associate that interviewed me did most of the talking and he asked me a few basic questions...why citizens bank? why middle market? why leveraged finance?

Questions were answered in the first ten minutes - from here on I drove the conversation by asking questions about the firms growth in the northeast and the addition of an M&A practice.
