There was an initial call with an analyst and it was all behavioral, very chill and only asked about yourself as well as what you liked to do for fun. My process was a bit more accelerated and only had 1 more call with the associate and then straight to the MD, but usually you talk to 4 people or so and then you get passed to the MD. The interviews were pretty much pure behavioral, and the toughest one was the one with the MD, as he really went deep into your background. Overall chill interview process and no technicals.

Interview
I went to the official website, and sent an email with the resume attached to the recruiting email address. About a month later, I received an email from an analyst asking to conduct a phone screening. I was able to get on the phone screen with one of the MDs and was later scheduled for an in-person interview. The in-person interview had three separate one-on-one interviews with two MDs and the CEO. Questions were all behavioral.
Interview Questions
There was a time when the CEO asked, "What are you good at?" I was stumped on the question because I did not expect such a direct question. There were other questions such as "Why did you choose your undergraduate major, and why have you decided to pursue investment banking?". One of the MDs asked how soon I can start, and if I was interviewing some other companies. They want absolute commitment, and if you say that you have other interviews lined up, it may backfire. I was honest with the company in regards to my job prospects, but I did not receive an offer at the end.

I applied through their website for a summer IB analyst position. After a resume screening, an analyst reached out to for a phone interview. The phone interview was with an MD, and most of the questions were basic behavioral questions.
After the phone interview, I was invited for an in-person interview at the office, which consisted of about 5 people interviewing me for about 10 mins one at a time.
I received the offer a week later.

Interview
Reached out to firm directly. Associate got back to me within two weeks and then two phone interviews. Really had to stay on top of things though and consistently reach out. Mostly fit based and past experience, but also some technicals. Know what it means to work at a smaller firm.
Interview Questions
They asked me what the difference is between a smaller and a BB bank and I had to outline what I think my responsibilities would be. The industry landscapes in southern california were a huge part of the conversation was well -- know how to talk about them. Know what is important when building a pitch book or doing general due diligence. I was also asked to speak about when I worked under pressure and when I had to assume responsibility in an environment I wasn't 100% comfortable in. Also know how to speak about comps.
