Hill-Townsend Capital, LLC, is a long/short hedge fund focused on financial institutions. Founded in 2007, its co-founders are Vernon W Hill Ii, and Gary B Townsend. Formerly, Mr. Hill was chairman and CEO of Commerce Bancorp, NA, the most successful retail bank in modern U.S. history. Mr. Townsend was a sell-side analyst with Friedman Billings Capital Markets for 10 years ending in 2007, and a U.S. banking regulator for 15 years, 1982-97, the last 7 of which as chief examiner of the Federal Home Loan Bank System.
