Interview Questions
There really weren't that many questions that were unexpected. Typical interview questions such as: why Hilliard? Why asset management? Do you have a city preference? Also asked me to go more in-depth on the pre-interview essay I wrote. Overall preparing was as easy as looking up the company on the internet and trying to use some keywords. They also asked why I wanted to have a finance-related internship when my major was unrelated. Very laid back and they will allow you to interview with your branch supervisor.

I contacted an alumni analyst at Hilliard and had an informal informational interview. I was referred to the interview process. The HR generalist contacted me and turns out gave the interview (1 on 1). Extremely kind and friendly individual. I think she knew I wouldn't get offered a position and she talked about timing and that if it didn't work out she sincerely seemed like she wanted me to apply next year for my junior summer. She was the only individual I had contact with throughout the process. Although I wasn't asked any technical questions, I would still bring it into the conversation. The culture at Hilliard seems very laid back and friendly.
Interview Questions
Question: When did your interest in finance start?

I didn't have a story lined up for that, as it didn't really start anywhere.

The firm does not openly advertise their internship program. I was referred to the main office through a family friend who worked at one of their advising offices. Got an email about a month later and set up an interview with the hr department over Christmas break. Straight forward interview, only asked personality and behavorial questions, no technicals. Was told I would hear back from them around April if I was accepted for the position.
