Analyst for Corporate and Asset Finance

The headhunter made an introduction and arranged several rounds of interviews. Just to clarify, I view the Corporate Finance and Lending arm as Macquarie's CIO. It operates as a HF to invest the bank's excess cash. Can hold anything in the capital structure (equity is more expensive to hold), do distressed to performing / LBO financing / restructurings, targets usually fairly small (sub $500mn), primarily fixed income.

1. Round: interview with two VPs, 1h, 3 parts: first part introduction, who are you / background, why are you interviewing here; second part: case study, we have an investment opportunity in a company providing business services, ask us anything that you want to know to arrive at a valuation of the company and appropriate debt levels and pricing; third part: what we (the Asset and Corporate Finance arm) do, role within the bank etc.

2. Round: 2 1h interviews with two MD/Assoc pairs, similar structure of introduction, case studies and then any questions about the focus of the people (some focus on lending, some on distressed etc).
