Interview
I applied through a job posting of Montagu on my university's job platform. After my sending out my CV and Cover Letter I was quickly invited and a phone interview was scheduled for about a month later. During this phone interview, I had one technical oriented interview with investment banking style of questions and the second interview with a principal that was rather focused on my CV and the reasons for applying for the position.
Interview Questions
In general, there were no surprising or tricky questions. The interview started with questions about general company valuation and how minority interest are recorded in the balance sheet. Furthermore, I was asked, whether the capital providers of the company have access to more assets than the sole enterprise value. Thereafter, I had to lead my interview partner through a DCF on a very detailed level. In the end, I was also asked about my strength and weaknesses, about the company itself and how the company and their investment strategy could be characterized.
