Interview Questions & Answers - OMERS Examples
Rotational Investment Analyst Interview
The case study was challenging because it was given in the middle of the week - I happened to be quite busy with work at the time, so the only time I could really work on it was at night which cut directly into sleep. Also this was the first time I had analyzed / considered an investment in a REIT. Follow up questions in the case study revolved around my model assumptions, what I thought about the competition in the industry, M&A activity in the space, etc. Just general questions you'd expect if pitching a stock / giving a presentation.

The interview was primarily behavioural questions, though some lighter technical questions came up as they went into my relevant experiences.
The most difficult questions were probably some basic modeling questions, like what assumptions did you use during [x] competition for your DCF model, and how did you select comparable companies in comps analysis. They also asked about a stock I’d buy and what risks I saw with the company.
Otherwise, they just asked standard behavioral questions such as “What do you believe your key strengths are in regards to this position.”

Unexpected question was asking business model in manufacturing business that i have not had any experience on. Even though i have internet access, i could not find good insight of the company due to limited public information.
