Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Invited to take infamous arithmetic test with two dozen other candidates in London hotel. Was not hard if you are math oriented, easier than practice tests online. Having said that though only 2 of us actually passed all 3 tests. HR interview followed by phone, pretty standard, and then flown in for interviews in Amsterdam. Trading floor was cool, lots of energy and testosterone, and there seemed to be very good camaraderie among the traders. 3 interviews there, although the last one is with a trader and is basically your chance to learn things. The first one is HR/motivational interview where they try to learn why you did everything you have on your CV and more. Be prepared with specific reasons as to why you want to work specifically for them because in my experience they got very defensive if you tried to express your concerns and will interrogate you as to why you would stay there instead of leave after a year or two. I found the line of questioning overly negative and aggressive, and this is why I ultimately did not end up there. The second interview is technical with two traders and is quite fun. Be prepared to make a market on something they give you and know how to move the spread around as you get orders.
