Trainee Private Equity

I am currently doing a semester over seas so both my interviews were conducted via Skype.

The first was a basic interview with an HR recruiter. She asked standard fit questions and basic questions about the company and why I wanted to work there.


The second round was with the same recruiter and the PE manager.

It was my first PE interview and coming from a total non target school I was a bit unprepared. Although I did well on the LBO and DCF based questions I was prepared for some of the questions on recent transactions.

Several questions included name a recent LBO who was the PE firm involved, why were they acquired and how would you value a company in that industry.

The format was fairly intense with questions coming at a quick pace.
