Phone Interview lasted about an hour. It consisted of both fit based and technical questions. Why M&A? Technicals, mainly valuation concepts. Nothing too difficult. When Do you use EV/EBITDA vs EV/EBIT? What kind of recent deals did you follow?
Interview Questions
1. Walk me through a Dividend Discount Model for a commercial bank.
2. In asset intensive industry, what multiple do you use? EV/EBITDA or EV/EBIT?
3. What valuation methods do you know?
4. What is cheaper debt or equity?
5. Explain beta.
6. What dilutive securities do you know? After briefly listing few, I was asked to explain also how do you actually treat for example RSUs, preferred stock, convertible debt, options and warrants. After that I was asked to explain the difference between RSUs and Restricted stock and Performance shares and what kind of treatment for each would you suggest.
