Interview
The firm recruits solely through networking and inside connections. They generally select roughly five applicants to interview and only accept one. They hire interns purely for education purposes, and they do not look to hire interns. It is a very small shop that makes few deals each year. They are tough to track down, but once you make communication they will be quick.
Interview Questions
The most unexpected question was how many neck ties were sold in the US last year? I began by assuming a population number which i then broke down into male and female. Then, I broke it down by age group assuming that young and elderly would not buy more than one tie a year. In total, they made up 30% of the males. The remaining "work force" aged men were split down the middle by occupation. White collar workers would buy twice as much as blue collar who would still buy at least two for special occasions. At this point, all were added up to arrive at a final number.
