Overall classic questions for IBD, emphasise on personality and goals.

No real unexpected question if you are ready to talk through valuations, current market conditions, or why TMT?
Overall, show that you are more mature than the others since analysts have more responsibility than most other firms.

Interview
First round consisted of a behavioral/technical interview with several analysts/associates. The technicals are the typical "describe the three valuation methods" and "walk me through the 3 financial statements" questions, as well as talking about a recent deal.
Interview Questions
There were no real surprise questions that I didn't prompt. If you mention something interesting of yours though, prepare to be asked about it

OCR followed by Phone Call followed by Superday. Superday is at headquarters and lasts quite a long time.
Interview Questions
Why Investment Banking? Walk me through a DCF? Tell me about how $10 in depreciation affects each financial statement? Additional questions that were difficult were personal questions on fit and background experience - quite a bit of information is asked to try and get the most cogent explanation of what your previous summer and work experience is. Calculate Enterprise Value given a current set of conditions? There were no other questions asked, but wrong answers would be penalized heavily - make sure to be solid.

Very positive process lots of technical questions very nice people. Be ready to work a lot at this place.
Interview Questions
Multi Staged, interviewed with multiple HR people, and people from the actual buisness line.
Given both a Brig-Mayer and other test to determine mental compentancy
Refrence process is rather tedious.

Normal interview process: introduce yourself -> go through your resume -> ask questions. The culture there is mild, don't be too soft or too aggressive when you are asking the questions. If you can speak fluent Japanese, it definitely helps.

Interview
Very prompt and responsive, structured. Coordinators are good with communication. Questions were regarding fit more than technical.
Interview Questions
Questions regarding my prior experience, specifically the deals that I've worked on. Also brain teasers and random questions that were asked to throw me off guard. They were definitely not routine in terms of other questions that I've been asked at other companies. Overall, though, the questiosn revolves around behavioral fit and technicals mixed in. I think they were really trying to get a sense of if I would be able to successfully work with them on a team versus them getting the smartest person on the board.

Interview
The first round was on campus. Was invited to a superday the following week. Consisted of 5 1 on 1 interviews.
Interview Questions
There were no difficult questions. Few technical questions. Mainly consisted of me walking through and explaining a DCF in as much detail as possible. Questions were almost exclusively fit related questions. Having a general understanding of the TMT space would definitely be recommended. Definitely be able to give a market overview and be able to reference transactions in the industry.

The whole process was very relaxed and there got a chance to speak with a diversity of people working within the firm.

Interview
Got an On Campus Interview which was with 2 Analysts. A week later got invitation to visit office. It wasn't a superday or anything, and there 4 rounds of interview (MD, VP, Associates, Analysts). The Associate and analyst interview was technical, and the MD/VP interviews were very fit based.
Interview Questions
1) "your resume is set up for a career in public policy - why do you want to do banking?"
I'd definitely say the hardest question I got was a fit question - "your resume is set up for a career in public policy - why do you want to do banking?" The difference was that the VP kept pushing me to find out what motivated me to do banking.

2) When and why do we use the Mid point method?

3) What do you know about TAP and why do you want to work at TAP? We are very young on the street and still getting established ... yet why choose TAP?

Interview
Note: Patrik Nelson (no "c") was the MD / staffer who organized the interviews. Ms. Jeremy Rachel Smith is the COO.

They started with a phone interview focusing on behavioral and my story for why I wanted to join a boutique firm. They are a group of former top UBS bankers that started their own practice and are huge in the tower space. Their top deals were sale of T-Mobile towers to Crown Castle for $2.5Bn (November 2012) and AT&T towers to Crown Castle for $4.8Bn (December 2013).

Interview also consisted of an M&A case study model built over a couple of days. They asked me to walk them through the M&A model.

Final interview included members of the team and the three partners: Karim Tabet, Davis Terry and David Lowham. David Lowham was very technical in his interview style.
Interview Questions
Q: Why does accretion in your M&A model increase in the outer years?
A: Target growth rate was faster than acquirer; ramp up of assumed synergies
Q: If your low EBITDA multiple company was acquiring a high multiple company, how was it accretive?
A: Leverage and synergies

Interview
You meet with 2-3 people, they ask you technical questions and fit/personality type questions. If that goes well there is a modeling test that they have you do. After that you meet with the senior partners and if they make you an offer then they have you meet with a bunch more people at the firm. People are generally pretty candid when you ask them questions about the firm
Interview Questions
They really grilled me on why I wanted to work at a boutique. I gave the the standard answers but they really dug deeper.
Really dug deep on why I wanted to do M&A. I didn't do much research on the firm before the interview so I didn't realize that they mostly do M&A so I made the mistake of saying at first that i wanted a broad product experience. Had to back-peddle quite a bit form that one.
