Is there any value in the CA qualification outside of Accounting?
So I spent my junior years in the big 4 grinding out a CA while burning the midnight oil and now, as a Manager in the consulting (deals - IT merger integration) side of the firm, I don't really use my CA qualifications at all.
I guess when CVs are added to proposals our clients have assurance I can read their financials, understand their GL and their accounting structures, but is there any real value outside of this?
Keen to hear everyone's thoughts.
Disclaimer: I don't want to get into a discussion about CA v.s. CPA. In my experience the CA did carry more weight here in kangaroo land (Australia).
