L.E.K. Life Science Associate Programme?

Hey all,

I am in the final stages of the interview process for the Life Science Associate role at L.E.K., an entry level position for graduates with a bioscience background.

I ultimately want to work in Biotech/Medtech (either in a startup or as a VC), and hence I decided to apply to this programme, rather than the generalist associate track. I was wondering if there were any other key differences (except for the industry focus), such as the type of engagements, compensation, MBA sponsorship and exit opportunities for this role?

Thank you!

Main difference in the industry type. The LS team also does a fair amount of CDD in line with the broader firm, but has a good amount of general commercial strategy work in their service offerings too. Not sure about MBA sponsorship, but this experience is definitely positive for LS PE or VC. Aim to work on projects with smaller companies if possible as this gives you a better understanding of biotech dynamics and something to discuss in VC interviews. There's a big difference in key business issues for Pfizer than for a pre-revenue biotech. Not sure how possible this is given LEK's fees, but check out feasibility with staffers once you're 3-6 months in.
