Thoughts on Clearview Healthcare Partners?
I’ve heard a lot of varying things about Clearview, both on here and on Fishbowl. Seems like a solid firm, albeit with some heavy hours, but the promotion cycle is very attractive.
I’ve heard some dissatisfaction recently from employees on comp relative to hours put in/rest of industry. Does anyone have insight into how the next couple of years are going to look?
Thanks
Terrible toxic sweatshop. Friends who work there are complaining the culture is in a downward spiral. I heard CV recently fired/let-goed a ton of their consultants, only to have them realize that they fired way too many people and reopened their applications for PhDs. The recent glassdoor reviews are pretty accurate from other Clearviewers I talked to. You're better off taking your talent to other Boston-based life sciences boutiques with way better career progression for less stress.
Whoever you talked to doesn't have their info right at all - can count on one hand the number of people "let go" over the past like 3 years.
So where's your info coming from. I'm just relaying info from ex CV colleagues
My roommate works there and just started in the NY office. He really likes his work. Good clients in life sciences and smart team. Seems like a generally fine culture from what I can tell but he also has been fully remote so he hasn't really met anyone. Surprised to see the previous commenter thought it was so bad.
Maybe its an office-specific thing. But I've been told to avoid it like the bubonic plague (or Covid-19 as we are in).
OP - Clearly its a very polarizing firm and I think either camps have legit reasons to hold strong opinions on it.
Yeah the conclusion seems to be to that OP should do their own diligence for the office they have an offer at. That being said, I didn't realize that general sentiment on glassdoor/fishbowl was bad and there's generally a kernel of truth to things you consistently read online.
Thanks for the feedback - I’ve already accepted an offer for the NY office, so at the end of the day there’s not much I can do. Sort of a shame because while I was still recruiting Glassdoor hadn’t really turned into the shitshow it is now. Was hoping that these issues have been brought to the attention of senior management and will be resolved in the next year or so. Would be unfortunate if a company on such a great path was derailed by a couple of years of bad decisions.
I think you'll be fine. If you have a genuine interest in life sciences and are in the NY offices, your experience should reflect my roommate's which has been positive.
I'll think you'll be fine too . Also have a college roommate there 7 months in and they have loved their experience. Seems like really interesting work on the branded product strategy and her hours don't seem that bad. Brand name clients and they deal with way less bullshit than I'm accustomed to. She logs on ~9am and is off by 7-9 pm. She's also gets stuff all the time in the mail....wine bottles, cocktail kits, premium gift baskets, a Patagonia, and even an iPad as a EOY gift. Seems like a decent place if you like life sciences and consulting; you'll learn a ton. Have heard the WFH has a bit isolating though with only contact with your project team day-to-day (besides the awkward happy hours and office-wide events)
I'd say a specific type of personality thrives there and its hard to describe in words. If you jive with the "kool-aid" and are fine with what people tell you about the culture then I don't see why you shouldn't take the offer. They have a great presence in life sciences strategy with excellent placement in various roles in biotech. Their reputation in biotech does not go without reason. But my general sense it comes at the expense of very toxic culture.
