Job Search Help - Graduating in May
Hello, I am a bit new to this site and forum so here is a bit of background on myself. Non target, 3.3 GPA, multiple campus leadership positions, currently interning for a Wealth Management team (Think Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, UBS, Morgan Stanley).
I am looking to get into ER, have applied to 50+ ER associate jobs - but have not been contacted for any interviews? Starting to freak out as I graduate in May. I know ER recruiting is a bit different and not as structured as IBD, but do think I should start looking into the corporate finance, or other areas? How did your first job search go?
Hey jsb218, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:
Hope that helps.
Bump. Interested to see what folks have to say on this one.
Are you networking at all or just dropping resumes online? Without relevant experience (wealth management not really relevant) or a target school or great GPA, you won’t get many responses without networking.
Are your campus leadership positions related to investing or finance? Showing demonstrated interest in the equity markets is important for ER roles, not just general involvement.
Lastly, yes definitely apply to other roles like CF. It will be easier to break in while employed in a finance job than unemployed...
