Your true dream watch if you only can have ONE

Let's open this up for debate. If money were no object and you could only have ONE watch that you had to use every single day in all conditions, what would you choose? No more "JLC Reverso for the office, Sub for daily wear, Nautilus on the weekends" comments. You only get to pick one.

My pick would be the F.P. Journe Chronographe Rattrapante Linesport in Platinum (blue dial, current sport version without rubber bumpers).

Unique from what everyone has? Check. Incredible materials? Check. Special movement? Check. Beautifully finished? Check. Works as a sport watch? Yep. Works in a formal setting? Yes (if anyone disagrees they probably don't know what they're looking at). Polarizing? Just enough to be fun. Would make me smile every time I look at my wrist? Absolutely. Realistic? One can only hope...

Let's see what you've all got.

Feel like this is a bit of an oddball pick, but for me, it would be the Vacheron Constantin Traditionelle Twin Beat.

It has a 1.2hz mode to increase the power reserve to 65 days for storage purposes (but can't be worn in this mode, so it's for storage only), which to me is a hilariously over-engineered solution to a very minor problem. Basically a real case of "don't ask why, ask instead why not"

If I only had to wear one watch it would probably be an Explorer I 36mm or a Speedy, they're just so versatile and work well with a t-shirt as well as a suit.

But since price is not an issue in this hypothetical scenario, I could also see myself rocking a grand complication from Patek, probably a 1518 Pink on Pink or a 2499 (3rd or 4th series).

Audemars Piguet. But I’d have to say the AP Royal Oak Chronograph in Platinum and Titanium. Released in 2017 for the 20th Anniversary of the Royal Oak. It was this watch that created an obsession for me.

All yellow gold Daytona.

The irony of your question is that this watch is a "dream" not for cost but for availability. I can easily afford one and would happily buy one from an AD. But the "dream" is to get that phone call with one available, it's just not going to happen.

Man there are some very beautiful watches here. If it were up to me though I’d go for my grandfather’s old citizen. Works well, nothing fancy and there’s a lot of sentimental value for me.

I’m not that deep into watches yet but I’d go with a Patek Phillipe Calatrava. Just really nice and subtle looks wise. Also really love the 38 mm size and it’s thinness.

If we had to go for engineering, my 2nd pick would be a Grand Seiko Spring Drive (the leather band version) for just how accurate it is and the technology used inside the movement. My only gripe is that it is 40.5 mm in size.

Obviously the craftsmanship for both Patel and Grand Seiko are top notch.

Hopefully I will have enough to buy one of them someday after I graduate.
