Cold Email Hedge Funds to set up an informational interview?
Is this a decent cold email format? Also I do have some investing ideas that are semi-researched, and a thorough past writeup that worked very well, would it be appropriate to include those or a resume on here? I feel that it doesn't seem like I have much value to add or really even anything interesting to add other than my university, but I don't want to overcommit to trying and falling on my face with eagerness/pretention? Also how would I title the email?
Mr. XXX,
My name is YYY and I'm currently a freshman studying Business Administration at ZZZ. I am interested in a career in investing and was wondering if you could take a few moments to speak with me about your experiences in the industry so far. I know you're busy so I really would appreciate any time you could give me. I hope to talk to you soon.
Best,
YYY
Cold Emailed VP at Hedge Fund for an Info Interview (Originally Posted: 08/22/2017)
I sent an email to alumni who is a VP at a decent sized hedge fund/Asset Management company (7bn) with the intent of setting up an 'informational interview'. I have had a few info interviews with analysts and associates, but never with a VP. Should I expect anything different? Should I do anything different?
Just have a long and short idea ready to go
