Hedge Fund Execution Trader to Top MBA?
Hi fellows, I'm currently working as an Execution Trader at one of the largest equity L/S hedge funds in Asia ($20bn AUM). Got into special situation investing recently and have been researching it on my own beyond work time. My goal is to make a career switch to an analyst role at a relatively large Event-driven fund (location is not my primary concern) and ideally through a top US MBA programme. What are my chances to get into a top MBA (say HBS, Wharton, Booth and CBS) given my execution trading background?
Background
Education: Masters in Finance from a UK target. Undergraduate in Finance from a good Chinese uni.
Work Experience: one year execution trading at a Asian Equity L/S hedge fund with $20bn; one year Sales & Trading at a Chinese derivetives market making firm; One year treasury (equity portolio financing) at a Chinese investment bank.
GMAT:750
Others: just took CFA level 3 (result has yet come out)
Appreciate your thoughts and advice. Thank you!
Bump! Also in a mainly execution role, albeit in AM, so curious!
