How else to prepare for HF recruiting?

The usual accounting/finance technicals that you get in IB, a number of quality stock pitches (long and short, aligned with fund strategy), knowledge of trends/ themes/drivers/narratives of a bunch of names in some sub-sectors that’s relevant to the fund, practice and drilling for the modeling test

How else would you recommend to prepare? Coming out of IB - is there anything in specific that one should be looking at to close the gap versus others who will be interviewing from IB + PE? How much deeper are the accounting technicals versus what you get in IB interviews or does the modeling test check that box? Thank you.

I'm headed to a SM and interviewed with several SM / MM. SM rarely had any modeling tests. MM all had modeling tests. Both require you to defend a stock pitch, both long and short.

Interesting, thank you.
