Mistake to tell Recruiter also interested in AM?

I am going to be reaching out to recruiters soon and wanted some advice. I’m coming from sell side research and am looking to make a jump to the buyside. Truthfully I would be happy working at either a hedge fund or traditional assessment firm (Fidelity, etc). What’s the best way to approach this with a headhunter? Do I admit I’m open to both or would it make me seem like I’m not narrowly focused enough?
