Phd in finance -> hedge fund?
Hey,
I have the possibility to do a phd in finance at LSE/LBS/Oxford, what would be my chances of landing a job at a hedge fund if I enrolled? Do you know what kind of compensations to expect, and which of these schools would be best? (I have a bachelor in maths and econ and an msc in mathematical finance)
Thank you!
Short answer: yes, but a PHD is overkill for anything but heavily quantitative funds (think AQR). Compensation will vary widely but a few hundred thousand to high hundred thousands out of school and growing from there. Think LSE and Oxford > LBS reputationally, but that's all i know
Back to the womb eh college boy??
Why don't you enter the real world already!
