Point72 Conversion Rate for Offices

Hi all, I've been lurking on forums for a while, but am genuinely curious to get as many data points as possible. From what I understand, the offer is "yours to lose", based on the podcast that Patrick did with the head of Academy.

I'll be joining Point72 in 2024 for their summer program, and I would be happy if anyone could shed light on the following:

1) Conversion rates for offices in US and other regions (London, HK, etc.)

2) What I should be doing to stand out as much as possible to increase my chances of a return offer.

Any comments is well appreciated.

Congratulations on your offer, could you discuss it with the team?

And I also.wanted to ask if you do not.mind, how was your application process like during case study and all, did you do.modelling as case study?

Done it and received return offer. Rates vary widely across years and offices. London has been 50-100% years past etc.

It is entirely on whether or not you complete the projects well and demonstrate strong insights. It’s not like banking SA where you do w/e, show a good attitude and probably get a return based on the economy.

it’s technically “yours to lose” in that they have space and want to convert you, but unlike banking where basically anyone can do the work less they mess up/around you actually need to prove you belong there which can be a steep challenge for some people.

just depends how your brain is wired to be honest. I mean the job is combing through financial statments and news with the aim of modelling out your view and demonstrating a variant view. You need to demonstrate you have something about you on the internship to get the return
