SA Back Office HF -

Hi all, long time reader, first time poster.

I hope you guys can help me decide what to do. I am an incoming SA at a DE/Citadel/P72/MM type hedge fund. I go to a really mediocre school but, regardless, landed a S&T job at a BB last summer in NYC, and am heading for HF next summer.

I went crazy with the networking while in NYC, and received multiple referrals from MD's for next summer IB. It didn't materialize, but now I can say I am very familiar with the internal mobility process.

I want to end up in research for HF (PM track), and I was wondering what your guys' opinions would be if you had to decide whether to still do your 2/3/4 years in IB before moving to HF, or taking advantage of the great internal mobility the fund has (they are very vocal about investing in junior levels) and stick it out for however long before moving over.

I'd be looking at EB's and top BB's.

Thanks all.
