Found a couple of older threads. Is it really a hellhole as people make it out to be? How is comp at the mid-junior level?

They pushed their AUM to the moon recently, heard they did very good those 3 last year
Never interview with them if you are experienced
Hi, could you elaborate pls?
They contacted me to enter the recruitment process for their L/S division.
Mind sharing which HH and what position this is for?
What I heard in the past: very intrusive in interviews, very French, poor comp. No direct experiences, so that's that
A hellhole? Definitely not.
The company has grown considerably in the past six years, so much more teams and managers now. You will be happier in some groups than in others.
they are changing their non competes to a year for lots of folks and lots of people looking to leave now
1 year non compete? That's heavy. I heard in the past most people only had something like 3 months notice period and no non compete
almost every multi manager has a lengthy non compete, 3-6 months average and many are at a year. i know a few people at bridgewater with 2 years and since they are based in CT they dont have to pay a salary during non compete.
any view on their nascent multi manager l/s equity business? (not the quant stuff)
Really interested by any feedback on their fundamental equity business
They have one? Thought they invested in third party managers for fundamental, in house all quant
What kind of intellectual property can there possibly be to justify a 12m non compete clause?
Very common in this industry. If you have direct access to code/alpha 12m non compete is not uncommon
Pretty much the default in quant firms
Funny you think the noncompete is used to just deal with IP.
What else is it for?
And for long only?
