It depends on where you go for them. There’s a lot of BS in terms of bespoke. Travelling tailors like Steed and Hitchcock are great, but it is a time commitment and a monetary commitment to get it right.
When you lift any serious amount of weight, the suit would have to be bespoke. Off the rack won't fit, or at least not for me.
I'm in good shape but I feel as though you are talking bodybuilder size here lol. Definitely not that big.
It is more about proportions. You don't have to be a pro BB.
The shoulders are too wide, the arms won't fit, waist too small.
100% true, if the shoulder fits, the waist is too big and vice versa
but I guess if you're going for that "wearing your dad's suit' vibes I guess off-the-rack is fine.
If you have time to get that big you must not be in banking
Always worth it, but if your shape changes (you gain weight through muscle or fat and vice versa) it will not look as nice.
Alternative is to buy a suit off the rack at suit supply and go to a tailor who will fit it better and this is much more cost effective.
If you're looking to have unique details (shoulder padding, low gorge), its worth it. MTM shops arent able to do things like this.
