Selected for CM RD1 mean dinged for IBD?

I’ve never received >1 RD1 at a bank, despite applying to each individual group.

Does getting an invite for RD1 for the Boston office or Capital Markets group at Bob’s Bank mean that you’ve been selected there and are now eliminated from the NY IBD process at Bob’s Bank?

In that case, is it worth rejecting the offer for the interview to wait for your first choice within the bank?
