going to london for your 3rd year??
I was curious to hear from guys who started out in new york, and opted to go to london for their third year as an analyst. I know this is especially popular at places like deutsche and Barclays. I have met people who have done it at other banks as well, including american based banks (Citi/goldman/ms).
I was curious to know....
do only people who didn't get exit opps do this?
does the bank typically pay for relocation, what is included in the relocation package? flight/executive apartment?
how is pay handled, in pounds or dollars? what about taxes??
How easy is it to come back to nyc?? Did you come back as an associate....and/or shave a few years off the ladder?
Is the overall experience good, or does not really matter since you will barely have any time to actually enjoy living in different city/country, and you won't have many friends to spend your little time with?
I didn't know anyone does this. Would like to hear thoughts as well.
