How to find the industry you are meant to work in

There is no one industry that genuinely interests me. Not sure if I haven't found the one yet but as of now, I am indifferent to working in one industry or another. I know what I like to do in terms of work - I like making deals, I enjoy contributing to firm strategy and operations, and want to climb ladder in Corp Dev / other lofty buy-side careers and at some point utilize my skillset to start my own business (or buy). For those about to bring up financial services as an industry, I'm not interested. I didn't enjoy my time in IB one bit mainly due to the culture.

I'm 27 and friends my age already looks like decided on being a real estate guy, cypto guy, TMT, O&G; for me its crickets... This may not be a horrible problem to have on paper but it does present a big challenge when you're ambitious and want to climb yet don't know which tree tom climb up on.

First gig after undergrad was with a boutique M&A shop in NYC and a year later, landed a Corp Dev role at a PE-backed acquisition machine. Worked for 2 years, saw deals in both Renewable Energy and SaaS due to nature of the business, and moved to another Corp Dev role in construction. Did deals in construction for 1 year, then moved on to a scale-up. Now I'm doing Corp Dev and Strategy work for the said scale-up, focused on e-commerce. As you can see, a proven industry hopper, and no one of them excited me enough for me to stay. How do I find the right industry for myself? Have you ever come across someone who suffered from a similar problem and how did they end up?
