LA/Chicago politics
I got myself into quite the dilemma...
Not necessary to mention firms at this point, but what would you guys advise in the following scenario.
Got an offer for a shop in LA. However, we're stalling on a formal offer letter until the week of November 20th so that I can buy time to lease my condo. I'd have to accept/decline within 30 days of the formal offer letter. Note, I will not relocate unless I can dispose of the financial constraint of my condo in Chicago. (I prefer to lease vs. sell because it's a great investment property and besides real estate market to sell is challenging right now.)
Turns out the same company just posted 2 new positions in Chicago with a group I'd actually prefer, it has more visibility, greater deal flow etc. However, this group is much more competitive to get into vs. LA and my intuition tells me they'd consider me, but may truly looking for someone with just a tad bit more experience. Again, one never knows though.
I can't simultaneously pursue the Chicago opportunities while an LA offer is on the table. Or can I?
Any advice on how to navigate thru such a scenario?
