Need severe help!!!
I am currently a rising sophomore at Northwestern University studying Mechanical Engineering and Economics double major and I currently have a 3.62 GPA. Do I have a shot at recruiting for investment banking? As a side note, my parents work at a small PE shop with AUM of about 300 million in New York.
I need to get off this forum
Normally I would ignore a post like this, but as a fellow NU grad, am obligated.
Yes, you have a clear chance. Period.
Get on with your prep and crush it…
I apologize for this post but everyone says the norm is 3.7 but im worried because my fellow SESP friends have 3.9+ and I dont.
Much like univ apps, Grades are only one point of evaluation, your connections, performance and personality matters much more
You have zero chance at anything better than a LMM bank. Any decent firm automatically rejects applications with anything less than a 3.7-3.8 generally.
Maybe if an MD pushes super hard for you, you’ll have a shot at interviewing, but even then, you’ll get weird looks from your interviewers when they eventually see your GPA.
I’d recommend exploring other finance paths.
wait aren't you a prospective student?
