Not Busy - Should I Be Scared?

Hello,

Currently an A2 working at a BB/MM in a coverage group. My hours lately have been 9-6 (more like 9-4). Have too much free time at work and at home, especially with this salary that I'm getting. Feels too good to be true. Bank is laying off people left and right. Should I be worried about getting fired?

Other juniors in my team are not busy too.

Thanks!

Ok so are you at a BB or MM? Because those are two very different things

Depends. If layoffs have happened, I wouldn’t be too worried, unless there are additional upcoming rounds. I’d communicate your capacity as much as you can

MM - a few folks get fired every other week or every other day. All the way from Executive Directors down to Analysts
