People not responding to my emails
This just happened to me for the third time now. For context, I’m recruiting for FT jobs.
I get an email asking to schedule an interview, I email back as soon as I see it, and then nothing comes back to me. I follow up after a day or so, but nothing. My emails have no typos, a professional tone, and a reasonable response time.
Has anyone been through this before? It’s ridiculously frustrating.
Have noticed a similar trend when recruiting for FT. I’ve asked a few of my M&A contacts and even some recruiters.
The feedback I’ve gotten is that supply & demand of M&A jobs is crazy right now. Recruiters that normally had to handle 100 applicants are now dealing with 1000 applicants to fill 3 spots, when there used to be 10 spots.
Also just a matter of timing, going into the holidays and EOY lots of shops are rushing to close deals or have a lot of senior leadership already checked out.
Per an MS MD that I chatted with this morning, many processes will be stagnant from here until 1/15.
Personally I’m using this time to send out as many requests as I can and build new relationships, ahead of positions opening in Q1-24. Hope that helps.
