Please help me with Excel
Hi guys, I am currently preparing for an Excel test. I downloaded a list of transactions from CAPIQ but can not seem to be able to sort the value columns by number (ex: from least to greatest). It only lets me sort from A to Z. I have tried copying and pasting into a brand new column but it still won't work. Can someone help me on this?

Select the entire table, go to DATA tab, then click Sort. You can then sort columns by whatever you want, also check the "my table has heads" box if it does.
I understand how to use the sort function. The problem is that the option for a numerical value does not show up. Only A-Z.
Uhh sort from high to low or vice versa?
Yeah the problem is that option isn't showing up. It is only showing A-Z when i click the drop down menu.
See my comment. A-Z includes proper sorting of numbers.
A to Z will sort numbers correctly unless you have extra spaces in front of the numbers.
Try formatting the values column to numbers and then sort. To be certain, just check that there aren't any unusual characters impeding excel's ability to identify each value as a number. CIQ data should be fine though.
Sorting worked for me on the file you uploaded.
It works for lowest to highest but I try Z to A trying to go from highest to lowest, the dashes (0's) come up first. Is there any way around this?
Are the dashes the problem? It's not Excel as I just made a random list of numbers and it's sortable from highest to lowest.
