Sick Leave

I’m an Analyst 1 (going on to Analyst 2) at a BB in London and I have recently had an occupational health doc appointment. They recommended that I take 3-4 weeks off work due to my mental health deteriorating over the past 6 months because of constant 90-100 hour weeks.

Can anyone tell me the pros / cons of doing this? Of course it would be beneficial for my own health, but I don’t want to get on the bad side of my team / seem like a cop out etc.

If it’s for me natal Heath your staffer should understand and allow for your request. I know an analyst who took 3 months off and was okay / her team understood. Especially w covid and so much analyst turnover and deal flow, they’ll be desperate to keep you and allow you the few weeks if it means even keeping you for just a few more months
