Advice needed: Invited to an interview - but not my dream division.

Hi all,

So, today an email landed in my inbox, from Goldman Sachs in London.
I have been selected for an interview for a New Analyst role available within the Securities Division in London - the position is within the Global Commodities Sales Team. The funny thing is though, I've never applied for this particular position?
Have I been headhunted?

Secondly - Sales is probably not my "dream division", so I'm in a bit of a dilemma here.
Obviously, this is a great opportunity to land an entry-level Analyst position, as I'm finishing my undergraduate studies next month.
However, my main question is - does anybody know if its possible to change division after some time (say 1-2 years)?

For example, I would probably rather go for either Trading or maybe M&A or IBD. Basically anything but Sales - but am I being too picky here?

Also, the email doesnt state what the role/position actual contains i.e. what will the tasks and challenges be etc.

I haven't answered them back yet - so any response and feedback is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Interesting. are you sure it's legit from GS? I've gotten intv invites but when you hover over the email it resembles: GS.com.fakewebsite.com/21321321412432432

In any case, starting off at GS anything is nice.. easier to get a job when you have a job
