Citi June-December LATM Internship or Boutique Summer Internship
Hello,
Before I present my conundrum, I'll present a little info about myself. I am a rising senior at a top target and, prior to today, had been planning to spend my summer interning at a boutique investment bank/equity research shop in New York. However, I just found out today that I have been accepted to the Citi Latin America division internship program in the franchise financial analysis & planning department.
Now ideally I would go with the Citi offer, but the major hitch is the fact that the internship is a 6 month long one, and would require me to take a gap semester. Furthermore, I would eventually like to break into Investment Banking, and I realize that FP&A is rather far removed from IB. However, this internship also presents me with the opportunity of delay graduation for a semester and go through junior recruiting again essentially. Thus, weighing all the pros and cons, I am inclined to take the offer. I'd appreciate any input!
Thanks a lot
Bump.
I'd say go with the IB/ER shop. The role at Citi sounds BO.
Thanks for the reply. I was wondering whether having the bulge bracket name on the resume would help me out during SA or FT recruiting? As opposed to having more relevant work experience at a boutique firm.
