Commercial banking VS mid-tier investment management
Hey everyone,
I'm currently interning at a major Commercial bank in London and am likely to receive a graduate offer. The graduate programme is rotational and will span accross 4 areas. As my bank does not have an IBD, the commercial banking is in charge of capital and financial markets. (DCM and some trading).
If my end goal is to get into buy-side at some point, would it be better for me to start a career at this large bank, or try to aim for a mid-tier Asset Management gig? Assuming that I try for the larger investment banks but am unable to secure a role there.
Thanks!
mm AM for sure... should not be even a question
It's not easy to get buy-side out of undergrad. Point blank
