Confused between 2 offers (internship)
I am a graduate student in Computer Science (Masters) and and am confused among these 2 offers for internship:
a) Quantitative Researcher - small hedge fund (AUM - 100-300 million range)
b) Software Engineer - Amazon
My goal after graduation is to get a Quantitative Researcher role in Hedge Fund. Although profile wise, I definitely like a) but my dilemma is most likely they won't be giving a return offer (since it's a small hedge fund) and thus I want to decide on the basis of what would be good on my resume while looking for full time quantitative research role next year.
would love to hear views from those who have had offers in software and quant research. And if anyone who has been involved in recruiting can share their insights.
Also, please tell me what other factors should I consider? And if I should look for red flag in small HF as well.
My background:
Graduate student (Computer Science) in a tech target, finance semi target university. Specialize in Mahine Learning. But no formal background/education in economics/finance.
Thank You.
