Flunked engineering, did well in finance...offer rescinded?
- Years ago I was in engineering at my non target university
- At the time I was very immature and distracted by family problems. I essentially dropped all my registered classes. For the first two semesters they all show as "discontinued" on my transcript. In my 3rd semester I got sub par marks (C's and a B) and decided to drop out
- I took a year off from school, got my shit together and went into finance at the same uni
- I ended up graduating from honours finance with a GPA just shy of 3.7
- My transcript shows my engineering degree as well as my finance degree
- Coming from non target with average gpa and no related professional experience, I am obviously already in a tough spot and having to disclose my engineering disaster would destroy whatever chance of a call back I do have
- When I apply places, I copy paste the finance degree on my transcript but not the engineering
- When I get an offer they will ask for official transcript and find out about the engineering grades. Will this likely cause my offer to be rescinded?
- I also want to try and rebrand by applying to LSE accounting and finance masters. I should have about a year of experience by then assisting a CPA with his private business. Do I stand any chance with this background?
