GSAM Private Equity Group - 30 min interview
Hey guys,
I have a 30 min interview call with the PEG at GSAM and was wondering if any of you had interviewed with them. I can't find any information on the group and the only information I could find online was the PEG description on the GSAM website:
Private Equity Group
Goldman Sachs Private Equity Group (PEG) is a leading investor in private equity funds, is a significant co-investor in direct investments, and is an active provider of liquidity and portfolio management solutions to existing private equity investors. PEG's comprehensive global private equity program seeks to construct a diversified private equity portfolio and considers each potential investment's strategy, geographic focus, competitive advantages, and return profiles, including how a particular opportunity may affect the portfolio's volatility and risk.
Based in New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and San Francisco, the Private Equity Group consists of over 85 professionals. PEG casts a wide net in an effort to identify the best private equity fund managers in the world. PEG primarily makes commitments to private equity funds located in the United States, the United Kingdom, continental Europe, Latin America and Asia with strategies that include leveraged buyouts, growth financings, natural resources, venture capital and distressed securities. PEG believes that its reputation and access to the resources of Goldman Sachs may provide significant advantages to its investments. PEG maintains an –open-door policy with respect to potential investments, and welcomes information regarding prospective private equity fund offerings and secondary investment opportunities.
Any advice on how to prepare for the interview or any additional information would be really helpful.

GSAM Private Equity Group - Getting in touch with HR or hiring manager (Originally Posted: 02/22/2008)
I am interested in a position I found online but can't find any contact info to get in touch with HR or a hiring manager. Its in GSAM PEG. If anyone works at GS and could find out who to contact, I would REALLY appreciate it. I try to contribute as much as possible if I have the means to help anyone on this forum, someone I helped from this forum texted me yesterday that they had gotten a SA offer at MS thanks to the help/info/preparation I offered them, Im always happy to help and hope one of you has the facility to help me.
If you work at GS and can get me this info, I would very much appreciate it and can figure out a discreet way for me to get you the details of this position and for you to get me the contact info without compromising your anonymity.
Thanks in advance.
thx to all who PM'ed

GSAM PE Group Interview (Direct call from MD?) (Originally Posted: 02/25/2010)
I wanted to ask some advice from the boards because I feel I'm in a different situation that the norm.
I received a call today from (what I think was) an MD at Goldman's PE group in Asset Management. I attended a presentation for my non-target school with past alumni and submitted a resume through this. I was surprised by this call because I have only a 3.4 GPA, but have two wealth management internships on my resume, so I am definitely not considered the usual GS recruit.
I was asked to come in and interview with himself and 3 other members of his team. This is definitely the biggest opportunity I have come across, and in fact almost started to lose hope for a summer internship. Would anyone be able to spare some advice on this group or the possible interview that went through it? ANY help would be very much appreciated
Thank you for reading my post.
which division within GSAM?
Private Equity Group
HOly sh*t. Take me with you!
Haha, not sure if your being sarcastic or not.
Anyone have any more info on the group or this type of recruitment process?
