Internship recruiting with locks
I am applying for SA and Off cycles in UK and France. I am a black woman and I want to start dreadlocks. At my previous internship in London I saw people wearing dreadlocks, braids, etc but I’m afraid in France the mentality is different and it actually will reduce my chances. I have a quite good resume though not from a target school
What do you think I should do ?
The UK is definitely more open to diversity than France is (even if racism unfortunately is still a problem in the UK). I'm currently at an American bank in Paris and one of the FT analysts is black and she has dreadlocks. However I am not entirely sure if this could play against you if your interviewer was to be a traditional French man/woman. Best of luck though!
