Ivy vs Western Ivey for Evercore

I'm a canadian student at a mid-tier ivy and I'm surprised that kids from Western Ivey are placing better at Evercore than my peers at my school considering Ivey is much easier to get into. Is it a numbers thing? What was the point of going to an ivy if I could get with hotter girls at Western and get a better job?

I don't see your point. The acceptance rate is low because everyone applies? That is mathematically how a low acceptance rate is created. I'm definitely not saying its harder to get into Ivey compared to the ivies since the quality of the average ivy applicant is likely higher. To OPs point, all these schools are highly selective and the amount of kids going to Evercore from each school ebbs and flows

This guy is absolutely correct.

Every person who got into an Ivy League business/economics program could have gotten into Ivey but the reverse is not true. Think about it, Canada's best and brightest go to Harvard, the rest stick around and to go Ivey. Ivey and QComm have a lot of private school Toronto kids who aren't that smart either and want to preserve their wealth.

It's actually sub 5.5% nowadays. Most of the bschools up north in that forsaken country are almost as competitive as T10s the last couple years
