Long Short Interview Guides \ Career Advice
Hey guys, currently an analyst at a bank and going to a tech pe fund pretty soon. Truthfully, I want to make the switch to L/S and think I'm going to have to recruit pretty quickly soon after i hit the desk. I'm going to try and give the PE job a shot, but in the event that I do not like it (which i think will be the case), wanted to see if anyone knew the right way to prep for L/S interviews or the general recruiting process. I've done some personal investing , albeit not short term or trading on earnings, but I think I have a good sense of the basics from a value perspective.
Just want to get any advice from people who followed a similar path or know the right way to try and learn more about l/s investing either through books or guides they may have used in the past.
Thanks!
No guides really. If you go around buysidehustle, Fintwit and WSO you should be able to create a mosaic of resources for yourself.
Ask yourself what's moving this stock? There's usually a couple of dominant drivers/questions the market is thinking about. Think about what data you can use to forecast these drivers. Get in the weeds.
Hey what are some good places to start on fintwit?
Has anyone tried Fundamental Edge? Know its pricey but wonder if people thought it was worth it (coming from a PE background btw)
Overrated imo. There’s already been a thread about this
