I try to give some advice, but tbh listen to others on this forum before me I'm still in Undergrad.
As stupid as this sounds there is always a chance, I also go to a non-target as do plenty of my friends and we found ways into MM banks, BB banks and even a friend of mine into Evercore. So it always possible but it definitely is not going to be easy and is going to take more leg work than someone that went to and ivy league.
Depending on what type of non-target liberal arts school you go too you still might have more alumni thank you think, kind of like Fordham. So it depends what level of non-target you go too. Some non-targets will have a better chance then others. Higher GPA is always better but from my experience your GPA is good enough that if you have good networking calls they'll still give you a chance for an interview. So just prepare and nail the interview then.
As a non-target undergrad you are going to get less chances at interviews/superdays so just prepare and try to make the most of all of them.
All that said, networking is going to be your biggest asset. Be personable when you network and be sharp. If someone tells you to give them a call at 2:00pm call exactly when the clock goes from 1:59 to 2:00. Most IB employees you network with will notice that imo. If it is an in-person/zoom call be well dressed, appearance is important.
Lastly, think outside of your alumni network. I know some people in IB who just like mentoring and enjoy bringing new talent into their firm. This means email and sending messages to people outside of your alumni network too. I've talked to some people not in my alumni network and yes the response rate is less but it does exist and has helped me a lot. My current job I got is from a connection who only went to my college for a year before transfering to a state school.
Good luck, and I hope others reply to try to offer some guidance.
