Summer after freshman year

I am a freshman at a mid target school (think Georgetown, ND, UVA) and looking to prepare for the recruiting process over the summer. What did you do to prepare for recruiting? Did you take modeling courses? Did you read any books? Etc.

Modeling for IB SA interviews is unnecessary. I agree with the other comment to start reading R&P and also go over the corresponding chapters in the BIWS/WSO guides. You can also spend some time making a list of all of the firms and the dates that their applications opened in the last application cycle so this way you can target your networking and applications. For example, since Evercore applications opened March 1st for the last few years while Goldman (in the past) opened on July 1st, I would start reaching out to analysts at Evercore much earlier in the year compared to Goldman.
