Undergraduate Buyside Recruiting
I was researching different finance jobs and I came across some students who were directly recruiting for PE/HFs right out of undergrad mostly at some of the top ivies. I was just curious to know if analyst Buyside recruiting is a thing in the UK as well. If it is present in the UK it would be helpful if someone could provide me with more insight into how the recruiting process works.
Its more ad hoc and varies with the type of buyside. Some MFs/UMMs have SA programs you can apply to, BX has one I believe. Unsure about L/S funds, people do get into some decent funds like Viking out of undergrad but they tend to be LSE/Oxbridge students with really strong connections.
Some macro funds have structured recruiting such as Brevan Howard that anyone can apply to but you join as a trade support/settlement role.
Also keen to see if anyone knows which other PE funds recruit without FT banking experience in London. Currently in a process with a MF but keen to broaden the net.
