An introduction and a question: College Freshman

Good afternoon everyone,

After several months as an observer, I've finally decided to create an account and become part of this great community.

I am currently a freshman at a small LAC in Southern California and some of you may be able to guess what school I attend. I am keeping my mind open, but pursuing IB is a possibility.

As to my question, I am currently torn between choosing to major in Economics & Computer Science vs. Econ-Accounting & Finance. Any advice will be much appreciated:

A) Economics & Computer Science - CS requires significant time investment, CS also prevents me from taking major finance and accounting classes that are requirements for a prestigious scholarship within my college. Also, the difficulty of CS may lower my GPA. The pro? I see programming as an invaluable skill that MUST be learned. I also find CS very rewarding

vs

B) Econ-Accounting & Finance - Accounting is the language of business and I would like to master accounting while supplementing it with economics and finance. The pro? The focus, the (possibly) higher GPA, and the networking opportunities that the program provides. The con? I will have to shelve computer programming for the time being.

On a side note, for anyone who has time to kill, there's this 12- week immersion program called DevBootcamp. It is an intense coding bootcamp that turns you into a world class programmer by the end of the 12 grueling weeks. I might do that the summer after I graduate, as a reconciliation for not pursuing a CS major in college.

Keep hustling,
MegaStag

Why do you want to be a banker? As you've probably seen a lot of people say here, finance can be mind numbingly boring.
